On Saturday nieht, January 24, 2 009 James Gibson passed on at 6:30 p.m. in Atlanta, Georeia. lie was 79 years old. James, the oldest o his siblines, was born in Irwin County in Ocilla, Georeia on December 24, 1929 to Benny Gibson and Ola Iiall. Ater eraduatine hieh school James joined the Army and served his country as a Sereeant in the Korean War as a part o the Tank Core Unit. James received three honorary medals or his service in the Army. Durine this time he also married Palmzella Gibson (deceased) o Ocilla, Georeia. Upon receivine an honorable discharee hom the Army James returned home to Ocilla and subsequently settled in Lone Island, New York While in New Yark James met Delores Dandridee and remarried. While married to Delores, James opened and ran a successul business. Toeether they lived in Lone Island, New Y ark until he retired in 1989. In 1989 James and Delores moved to Atlanta, Georeia. While in Atlanta James met ma ny friends and acquired a manatjerial position at Q uality Livine Services (QLS) . Known or his expertise and handy work in the ield o carpent nJ, he was quickly relied upon or the majority o the decisions relatine to buildine repair, construction contracts and daily maintenance operations at multiple QLS locations. When James was not workine he loved to spend time house lookine with his wie, playine Pinochle with his friends, eardenine, spendine time with his amily and helpine others.
He leaves to mourn him, his wie Delores Gibson; our sons, Ronald Gibson o New York, Anthony Gibson (deceased), JeHrey Gibson o Georeia, Glynn Gibson o North Carolina; one dauehter, Trisha Gibson o Georeia; two stepsons Kirk Dandridee o Florida and liarold Dandridee Sr. (deceased); three dauehters-in-law, Dr. Bentley Patterson, Lexine Gibson (deceased) and Lisa Dandridee; twenty two erandchildren and ereat erandchildren; one sister, Gail LeBlanc; one brother, liarold Dean Gibson, and a host o Iovine amily and friends.

The repass will take place after the Interment at Canton National Cemetery. This meal allows the family time to catch up on each other's lives and demonstrates the continuity of life even in the face of death. The repass will be held at the QLS Meadows Community Room
