Roy Gary, Jr. was born in Laurens County, South Carolina on December 2, 1926 to the union ofJohn Gary and Mamie Gary.
He enjoyed fishing, planting in his vegetable garden, feeding birds and going to the senior citizen center with his friends. Roy worked a number of jobs during his life and retired from Beers Construction in Atlanta, Georgia.
He attended the Christian Jubilee Full Word Baptist Church, Inc.
Roy Gary, Jr. departed this life at 3:56PM on Wednesday, August 15, 2012 at Emory Crawford Long Hospital.
He leaves to cherish his memories throughout the years as a devoted father and loving husband to his six sons, Arthur Health (New Jersey), Freddie Gary (New Jersey) James Gary (New Jersey), Andrew Gary (New Jersey), Anthony Gary (Mableton, Georgia) and one step -son, Albert Benton (Decatur, Georgia); one daughter, Yvonne Benny (Warner Robins, Georgia) and one step-daughter, Sondra Benton (Lithonia, Georgia); one sister, Aunt Lillye McCmendon (New Jersey); six grandchildren, Antarrus Gary (Decatur, Georgia), Aleia Gary (Decatur, Georgia), Racheal Berry (Decatur, Georgia), I<eron Health (New Jersey), Kerimore Health (New Jersey), Sakinah Health (New Jersey); great-grandchildren, Guy Green, Alyssa Green, Saniah Collins, Qusttime Health, Keron Jr. Health and host of loving relatives and friends.
