llr\. Catlll'rine Fort was born December 8, 1928 to the late Mr. and Mrs. Mase Harris (Olivia Harris Elder), both of Monroe, Ga.
J/n. Fort married the late Mr. David Fort when they were both 16 years old, on June 7, 1944. They were married for 51 years, from this union three children were born, the late Lamon Fort, Donald Fort and Denise Fort-Badie.
.llr.\. Fort was an active member of Israel Baptist Church for many years. She worked with the Young Adult Choir for 16 years, and sang in the combined choir until her passing. She was also a member ofthe December Birth Month Club.
.lin. Fort retired from the Board of Education after many years ofdedicated service. She departed this earthly life on Friday afternoon, January 7, 2000.
1l/rs. Cathl'rine J-?ort leaves to cherish her loving memory, a step-father, Mr. Sam Elder ofAtlanta, Ga.; two children, Mr. Donald Fort and his wife Mrs. Deborah Fort ofNorcross, Ga, Mrs. Denise Eadie and her husband Mr. Terrell Eadie of Decatur, Ga.; three brother-in-laws, Mr. William M Fort and family, Mr. Samuel Fort and family, both ofAthens, Ga., and Deacon Charles H Fort and family of Decatur, Ga.; two sister-in-laws, Mrs. Mary Wright and family, Mrs. Annie Lane and family, both of New York, NY; four grandchildren, Ms. Lamontra Fort and Ms. Jessica Fort, both ofLawrenceville, Ga., Mr. Donald Fort, Jr., and Ms. Lakisha Fort, both of Norcross, Ga.; two great grandchildren, Myesha and Shauntasha Hughey of Lawrenceville, Ga.; one uncle, Mr. Lamon Tyus and family of Cleveland, Ohio; many nieces, nephews, and a host ofother loving relatives andfriends.
