OBITUARY
The late Mr. Sam Flowers was born June 9, 1932 in Hinds County to Mr. and Mrs. Eugene and Alberta Flowers.
At an early age he joined Pilgrims Rest Baptist Church. He mrrried Lucille Smith on August 23, 1953 from Crystaf Springs, Mississippi.
He later moveq .to.Jackson, Mississippi and joined the Saint Luther ~a'ptist Church.
At th.e age .of ten he started singing with a group known as the Gospel Five from Crystal Springs, Mississippi. In 1955, he began singing with the Seven Stars as a bass singer until his health started failing.
Although Mr. Flowers departed the physical life at 8:35 p.m.September 19, 1981 at Hinds General Hospital in Jackson, Mississippi, he will forever live in the hearts of his family and friends.
He leaves tomourn, a living and devoted wife, Mrs. Lucille Smith Flowers; two daughters, Mrs. Jerilyn Jones of Jackson, MS, Mrs, Marilyn Jones of Crystal Springs, MS; three grandsons, Larry, Jr., Orlando, and Ontario; four sisters, Mrs. Bobbie Ross of Utica, MS, Mrs. Earnestine Sturgis and Mrs. Earlyn Wade, both of New Orleans, LA, and Mrs. Ruth Varnado of Los i\ngeles, CA; two brothers, Mrs. James Flowers, Sr. of Jackson, MS and Mr. Alton Flowers of Terry, MS; two sons-in-law, Mr. Johnny Jones and Mrs. Larry Jones, and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
And at the end of the days /lifted up mine eyes into heaven, and mine understanding returned unto me, and I blessed the most High, and I praised and honoured Him that liveth forever ~.:hose dominion is an everlasting dominion, and His kingdom is from generation to generation.
