Mr. Jimmy Lee Farley passed away on Sunday June 8, 2014. He was born on May 4, 1945 in Milner (Lamar County) Georgia to the late Elijah and Luvonia Farley. He was the youngest sibling of fourteen sisters and brothers.
Jimmy was educated in the Lamar and Spalding County School Systems. He regularly attended church as a young boy with his parents at Shiloh Baptist Church.
Jimmy moved to Atlanta where he worked as a baker at the German Bakery in Decatur, Georgia for 15 years. He had a passion for baking fine pastries and enjoyed having people sample his goods. He later furthered his culinary skills at the downtown Marriott, where he met the love of this life Anita McTier better known to all as "Sweetie" in 1964. Jimmy and Anita were united in Holy Matrimony in 1977. Jimmy career at the Marriott lasted for ten years and he was later employed \vith Yor Muslim Bakery in Decatur, Georgia in the late 70's.
Jimmy started a new career in construction that lasted for over 30 years and retired with Action Electric. In his spare time he loved to fish, garden and most of all visit his family and friends. Jimmy was a people person and never met a stranger. He was known to all as a comedian by constantly putting smiles on people's faces. He was a hardworking, dedicated husband and father to his family while being a father figure to many others.
Jimmy leaves to cherish his memories: his faithful and devoted wife, Anita Farley; son, Jarvis Farley; daughter, Alexis Farley; sisters-in-law, Carrie Lou Farley, Maurice Mctier, Janice Mctier and Amanda Mctier. He also leaves behind a host of nieces and nephews.
