The Reverend Robert L. Melson, Pastor Officiating

The Lord is my light and my salvation; Whom shall !fear? The Lord is the strength ofmy life; ofwhom shall I be afraid?"
Mrs. Veorie Ross Ezell was born on November 17, 1923 in Marshallville, Georgia to the late Mr. Hollis and Mrs. Christine Ross. She departed this life for life eternal on Friday, July 2, 2004 from Emory-Crawford Long Hospital.
Mrs. Ezell was educated in the Macon County Schools. She became a member of the Macedonia CME Church at an early age. In 1945, she married the late Mr. Lewis Ezell. To this union were born two daughters.
In 1956, she and her late husband moved to Hapeville, Georgia where they became members of the former Sterling Chapel Methodist Church. She spent her working career as a Domestic Worker.
A woman of immense faith in God, she served her church in a number of capacities. She was an original member of the Church's Food Bank Committee and a member of the Communion Stewardess Board.
Many marveled at her strength, courage and calm assurance in the midst of the adversities she faced. She could say "I'm alright" even though she was enduring the storms of life.
Mrs. Ezell was preceded in death by her husband, Mr. Lewis Ezell; two daughters, Joann Ross-Kelly and Ruth Ezell Penn; one son-in-law, John Kelly; two sisters, Ann Boddie and Ernestine Towns; three brothers, John Ross, Willie Henry Ross and Emmitt Ross; three grandchildren, Rose Murchison, John Kelly, Jr. and Docha Eugene McDuffie.
She leaves to cherish her memory: two sisters, Mr. and Mrs. Archie Robinson, Sr. (Barbara) of Fort Valley, Georgia and Mr. and Mrs. Curtis Nelson, Sr. (Irene) of Jersey City, New Jersey; five grandchildren, Torrence Bernard Ezell, Vera Kelly, Angela Ezell, Denise Kelly-Washington and Barbara Penn; two sons-in-law, Mr. Eddie James Blanton and John Kelly, Sr.; brother-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Curtis Ezell of Macon, Georgia; sister-in-law, Ms. Lucile Ezell; eleven great grandchildren, Charita, Danielle, Marquis, Eddie, Tomeka, Quinterous, Joshua, Kadarius, Keyeon, Katlin and Ken; nieces, Joann Ross, Lorrain Simmons, Deborah Lakes, Christine Smith, Clara Ross, Angetti Massey, Felicia Nelson, Paula Towns Jones and Clara Brown; nephews, Archie Robinson, Curtis Robinson, Emmitt Ross Jr., Jeffery Towns, Hollis Towns, Curtis Nelson Jr., and Gregory Nelson; special relatives and friends, Linda Williams, Savannah Cunningham, Frank Newsome, Annie Willie Harris, and Mae Lester; and a host nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends. Vera Ezell was the matriarch in this family. Her strength, her Faith in God, her abundance of love, the ability to forgive and the patience and understanding to endure. Her prayers protected us, guided us, blessed us and comforted us. Every thing that we are, every thing good that we do, we owe it to this beautiful and magnificent woman of God. This is the legacy she is leaving her family.
Love is patient, love is kind It does not envy, it does not boast,
It is not proud. It is not rude It is not selfseeking. It is not easily angered,
It keeps no records ofwrongs. Love does not delight in evil. But rejoices with the truth. It always protects, Always trust, always hopes
A!ways preserves.
