Remembering the life of our Dear Brother in the Lord'
Brother Douglas Edward Evans "The Greatest" was born on Aug 18, 1941 to the late Alphonzo Evans and Willie Mae Hester. He was the third of seven children. The late William Alphonzo Evans, Albert Jasper Evans, Dr. Linda Hannah Winfield, the late Samuel Henry Evans, Vivian Teresa Evans, Julius Evans. Six in-laws and a host of nieces and nephews. He received his education at Lemon street high school in Cobb County Ga. On Jan 25, 1960 he was blessed to wed Mildred Ellison.
He worked at Lockheed Air force Base in Marietta Ga, and later at Georgia Power Plant in Smyrna Ga where he retired.
Later in years he joined Tabernacle COGIC where he gave his life to the Lord Jesus Christ. He later was ordained as a Deacon under the leadership of Pastor David Kirkland.
He will always be remembered for his handsome smile and being a sharp dresser.
On Feb 3, 2015, he transitioned from this earthly life to everlasting life at the ripe of 73, Praise God. He leaves behind his beautiful wife of 55 years Sister Mildred Evans and his eight children ,Douglas Edward Evans Jr (Debbie), Reginald Bernard Evans, Teralean Evans, Dwain Alphonzo Evans Sr.(Tameka), Benita Denise Hill, Daryle Eugene Evans, Tamela Moore, Frederick Moore(Jennifer) Sons in love Cedric Eason and Charles Moore. Nineteen grandkids and ten great-grand kids. God daughter Denise Johnson.
