"Miss Me, But Let Me Go"
'When I come to the end of the road And the sun has set for me.
I want no rites in a gloom filled room. Why cry for a soul set free?
Miss me a little but not too long And not with your head bowed low. Remember the love that we once shared,
Miss me but let me go. For this is a journey we all must take
And each must travel alone. It's all a part of the Master's plan,
A step on the road home.

Obituary
Joyce Nolan Eure, a native of Atlanta, Georgia, was the daughter of the late Myer L. and Leslye Anderson Nolan. She attended Our Lady of Lourdes
Catholic School, Booker T. Washington High School and was a graduate of
Morris Brown College. She continued her education at New York and Syracuse Universities.
Professionally, she was employed by the Atlanta Board of Education as a Social Studies teacher and rendered dedicated service to the students at David T. Howard, West Fulton and Frederick Douglass High Schools. As a result of her unusual background in Geography, she was chosen to serve on the original citywide committee to organize the Atlanta Social Science Fair. Additionally, she was one of several teachers who introduced the High School Geography Project to selected Atlanta high schools. After her retirement in 1989, she later rejoined the Atlanta Board of Education as a substitute teacher.
During her initial tenure with the Board of Education, Joyce's interest and concern for students to receive a well-rounded education led her to develop and present a proposal to the Atlanta Public School System emphasizing the need for students to travel to foreign countries where they would become familiar with various cultures and the history associated with each. For eight summers she chaperoned fifty plus students to ten European countries.
Joyce's dedication to the youth, as well as, the community, led her to become the first woman to be elected chairperson of the Butler Street YMCA Board of Directors. She served this organization as a volunteer for more than forty-seven years. In 1961, Joyce joined Radcliffe Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.) where she became an ordained Deacon. Her volunteer efforts continued as she was also an active member of the Atlanta Omega Quettes, President of the Jetsetters' Bridge Club, Inc. and a volunteer for over ten years with the Atlanta Convention Visitors Bureau, as well as, the Library Board . Joyce also served as a volunteer during the 1996 Olympics in Atlanta, Georgia.
In addition to her many contributions throughout the community and school system, Joyce followed in her mother's footsteps by becoming a member of Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Inc. She remained an active member throughout her life. As a woman of Zeta, Joyce served two terms as Secretary, several years as Financial Secretary, was selected National Director of Protocol, was the founder of Epsilon Zeta Chapter Blue Revue Scholarship Brunch and was inducted into Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Inc. Hall of Fame. She also served on several fund raising committees, one of which raised the largest one-time amount in the history of Epsilon Zeta Chapter.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Leslye Nolan, father, Myer Nolan, brother, Myer Nolan, and granddaughter, Niarra Eure. She leaves to cherish her memory, husband of fifty-four years, William J. Eure, Atlanta, Georgia; son, William K. Eure; daughter-in-law, Alandes Eure; grandchildren, Julian Eure and Nakia Eure, both of Cincinnati, Ohio; granddaughter, Kendra Clark (currently attending Fort Valley University); and a host of other family and friends.
