Sunrise, December 9, 1928, Mr. Edward "Pop" Ell is was born the son of the late Mr. Tillman Ellis and Mr. and Mrs . Elijah (Lillie Bell) Willingham of McDonough, GA. Sunset, December 14, 2010, the death angel came and bored the bright spirit of our loving "Pop" away to a land that is free from sickness, sorrow, pain and death.
He joined the Farguson Chapel Baptist Church at an early age. He picked up another loving family at Simmons Manufacturin g Company, where he worked fo r many years, finally retiring in 2005. Pop touched the lives of family and friends intimately and spiritually. He met and married his wife of 59 years, Georgia Mae, and to this union 6 children were born. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and friend .
Preceding him in death, his mother Lillie Bell Willingham, father, Tillman Ellis, stepfather, Elija h Willingham, daughter, Virg inia Ellis, brothers, J. Lee Weaver, Elijah Willingham, Jr., L. C Russell, and Pledge Weaver, and a sister Joyce Ann Houston.
He leaves to cherish his memories: his loving and devoted wife, Mrs. Georgia Mae Ellis, two daughters, Mr. and Mrs . Johnny (Georgia Lee) Thaxton, Mr. and Mrs . Alonza (Vanessa) Thomas; three sons, Mr. Eddie Lee (Frieda) Ellis, Mr. Nathaniel (Lena) Ellis, and Mr. Alfonso Ellis; five brothers, Mr. and Mrs. Robert Lee (Shirley) Weaver, Mr. and Mrs. McArthur (Mae Francis) Willingham, Mr. and Mrs. Willie Morris (Mary Ann) Willingham, Mr. and Mrs. Coleman (Annette) Willingham, Mr. George Willingham; two sisters, Ms. Louise Johnson, Mr. and Mrs . Bobby (Juanita) Pearson; three aunts; in-laws; Mr. and Mrs . Willie Floyd (Laura) Willingham, Mr. and Mrs . Jessie (Emma Joe) Jewell; eleven grandchild ren; sixteen great grandchildren; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and SPECIAL friends; two adopted daughters; Vivian Brown and Kaye Tarpley. Adopted families; The Russell's and The White's .
