Mrs. Annie Roberts Eason was born September 5th, 1943 in Atlanta, Georgia to the late Frank & Annie Roberts. She departed her earthly life on Wednesday September 3, 2014.
Annie attended East Point Elementary School, and graduated from South Fulton High School. She met her late husband (Melvin Eason Sr.) at age 14 and married after graduating high school. To this union was one son and two daughters were born. Annie worked for Genuine Hardware as a data entry clerk for numerous years where she met lifelong friends like Mrs. Fannie Brownlee. She was active in local politics, was an active PTSA member & officer, and was known for her baking skills and creative crafts. Annie had many creative talents that often times left her family and friends in awe.
Annie was a strong believer in being supportive and dedicated to family. She taught her children there was no greater honor than to be there for a family member in need. This life lesson would be received by Annie's children more seriously & deeply than she could ever imagine. During her daily struggles and ongoing health issues, her family refused to leave her side; Loving daughters that were committed to her care, devoted grandchildren that helped care for her daily, and an ongoing stream of loving support from her siblings, other family members, and friends.
Preceded in death by her husband, Melvin Eason, Sr.; and son Melvin Eason, Jr., Annie leaves to mourn her passing: two daughters, Alondra Eason Harris (Aundre), and Veralyn Faye Frierson (Cornell): nine grandchildren, MyLondra "Cupcake," Deja, Destiny, Nadia, Jordan, Sasha, Ty, D'Angelo and Toni; four brothers, Isiah Roberts, Jim Roberts, Frank Roberts, Jr. (Jean), and Nathaniel Roberts (Marcia); five sisters, Josephine Delaney, Christine Roberts, Harriett Steadman (Joseph), Thelma Roberts, and Rosemary Cloud; and many other loving relatives and friends.
"You Taught Us"
You may have thought we didn't see, or that we hadn't heard,
life lessons that you taught to us, but we got every word.
Perhaps you thought we missed it all, and we'd grow apart,
but Mom, we picked up evenjthing, it's written on our hearts .
Without you, Mom, we wouldn't be, the women we are today;
You built a strong foundation. No one can take it away.
Weve grown up with your values, your love flows through like water;
So here's to you, dear mother, from forever grateful daughters.
