Obituary
Viola departed this life on Tuesday, February 23, 2016 at Westbury Rehabilitation Center in Jackson, Georgia after a lengthy illness. "Note" (as she was so affectionately called by those who knew her best) accepted Christ at an early age and was a member of Fuller Chapel United Methodist Church of Zebulon, Georgia until she joined Barrow Chapel United Methodist Church of Griffm, Georgia in the 1990' s where she attended until her health declined. Note had a heart made of gold and she truly never met a stranger. Her most endearing qualities were her sweet nature and her softspoken tone. Viola was a loving wife, mother, sister, aunt, cousin and friend who was preceded in death by her two sons Eugene Coggins and Timothy Coggins, 3 sisters and 8 brothers. Left to honor her legacy and cherish her memory are her devoted husband of over 40 years Robert Lee Dorsey, Jr., five daughters Peggy Richards "Matthew Walker", Harriett Coggins, Telisa Coggins, Jacqueline "Charles" Blash and Rachel Stroud all of Griffin, Georgia. Four sons Dwayne Tyrone Coggins, Ramon L. Coggins, Robert Hastings all of Griffin, Georgia and Robert "Jackie" Lee Dorsey III., Tampa, Fl. Five sisters Katie Humphrey, Ruby Reid and Emma Coggins of Griffin, Georgia; Annie Shannon, Mary Lizzie Walker both of Zebulon, Georgia. Three brothers Raymond Hightower, Jacob "Ethel" Hightower and George "Irilla" Hightower all of Chicago, Illinois. Viola also leaves to cherish her memory 30 grandchildren, 24 great grandchildren, 4 great-great grandchildren, and a host of other nieces, nephews, friends and loved ones.
The Sweetest "Note"
I'd like to tell you a story about the Sweetest "Note". No, this is not about a song or a hymn in a book.
It is about the life of an Angel that God sent down 76 years ago. This Note had a heart made of Gold.
She had a smile that could brighten any room, or so I've been told. This "Note" I speak of was a wife, mother, sister and friend. Who loved life until the very end. God heard his "Note" was getting dim. He took her hand and told her to come home with him.
Although soft spoken, this "Note" carried so much strength in just one glance.
We'll miss our "Note" here on Earth. But there is joy in knowing each and every time we feel the wind on our face;
We'll know it's our sweet NOTE telling us, I am at Peace in this place!!
