OBITUARY
Donald Dicks was born January 2, I 95 I, to the late Mr. George Roy Dicks and Mrs. Leola Smith Dicks in Augusta, Georgia.
Donald was educated in the Richmond County Public School System.
Donald later moved to Atlanta, Georgia. There he found employment with the Metro Atlanta Rapid Transit Authority (Marta). Donald spent his later years of employment with the Dekalb County Maintenance Department
Donald had several hobbies he enjoyed. One was preparing delicious decorative food dishes for nourishing the body, and the other was great relaxing sound of music for the soul. He was a great DJ.
August 1990, Donald met his soulmate, Sandra (Tookes) Dicks. Donald and Sandra's committed relationship blossomed over
the years. As the relationship blossomed they were blessed
with one beautiful daughter.
April 2008, Donald and Sandra took the leap of faith into Holy Matrimony as he and Sandra were united in marriage as Heaven gave witness.
On May 7, 2008, Donald departed this earthly life. HBut be not to sad of heart, God shares all of your sorrows. He will bring you peace of mind, and brighten your tomorrow. Lean heavily upon our Lord--- Love and Comfort he will given
Survivors include a loving and devoted wife, Sandra Tookes-Dicks - Conyers, Ga; one daughter, Delphia Yevette Dicks - Conyers, Ga.; (4) Siblings, two sisters, Kathleen Dicks and Karla Chavous, Aiken, S.C.; brothers, George R Dicks, Jr - Marietta, Ga.; Curtis (Maria) White, St Louis, Mo, (I) brother-in-law; Willie (Vivian) Tookes, Fayetteville, N.C.; (7) sisters- in-law: Patricia Tookes-Atlanta, Ga.; Lula Jackson, Decatur, Ga.; Earnestine (Costonia) Henderson, Decatur, Ga.; Louise Hooks, Columbus, Ga.; Myra Barrons and Valerie Adkins, Montezuma, Ga. A host of loving nieces and nephews. God-mother Mrs. Eva Jones, special friends Tommy McGhee and Jennifer Tillman and many other very special relatives and good friends.
