Mrs. Mcuy Esther Hohnes Denson, affectionately known as "Esther" was born September 25, 1952 and was the only child from the holy union of the late Mr. and Mrs. Charlie Lee and Tensie
Mae Hohnes, in Thomaston, GA

At an early age, Esther confessed her love to Christ at Pine Chapel

Baptist Church in Thomaston, GA where she was baptized She

was a devoted member at the Mt Zion Second Baptist Omrch in

Atlanta, GA where she setved on the usher board, sang in the choir

and committed herself to countless other comnlittees and programs

within_the church and community.

Esther was educated in Upson County School System at Lincoln Park Flementary and R.E. Lee High School. She received her tmdergraduate degree in Bachelor of Fme Arts from University of Georgia and was a member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority. She went on to obtain her Master's degree in Gifted Education from Mercer University and spent her career as an educator with the
DeKalb County School System. She was an advocate for the
education of others. She worked with the Upward Bounds program and never passed on the opportunity to tutor anyone that sought her
out

Esther was a loving mother and demonstrated thoughtfulness and
kindness to others. She touched the lives of many by sharing her passions for tennis, singing, music and all other fonns of the arts. She loved to travel and always saw the beauty in nature and anyone that she would come into contactwith. Family and friends were her
pride andjoy and she maintained her trademark, infectious sense of humor all the way to the end.

On Wednesday, October 5, 2016, God looked down upon the
earth and knew that she was weary. He knew that she would never be well on this earth again. He whispered ever so sweetly in her ear, "You have fought a good fight; you have kept the faith. No more pain and suffering, no more medicine. Come on up and be free to walk. arotmd Heaven all day!"

Esther was preceded in death by her parents and her beloved daughter, Ms. Yolisiua Denson. Left to treasure her inspiring memory is her loving and adoring son, Mr. Matthew Charles Denson of Stone Mountain, GA and her devoted, dedicated friend,
Mr. Maxie Foster of Stone Motmtain, GA; Special cousins Ms.
Clarie Mosley of Decatur, GA and Ms. Annie Goolsby of Atlanta, GA; loving aunts and uncles, Mrs. Vuginia Calcbrell of Decatur, GA, Mrs. Ruthie Lee Childs of Stockbri~, GA, Mn. Rebecci Searcy of Dayton, OH, Mrs. l.ndie Mae Clianey of Jupiter, FL, Mrs. Mcuy Alice Walker of Atlanta, GA and Mrs. Carolyn Hohnes of Thomaston GA; Mr. Willie Robert Hohnes of Waukegan, IL
and Mr. Nathaniel Searcy of Dayton, OH; god-daughters Ms.
Whitney Searcy of Covington, GA and Mrs. Shakeena B. Reeves of
Albany, GA; a host of cherished cousins, many friends and a
