On Monday, July 9, 2001, God called Bessie Herbert DelBridge into Heaven; she passed on at home, concluding a bout \Yith a brief iiiness.

Bessie was born on October 20, 1943, in Beufort, South Carolina, to Gossie and Bessie Herbert.

Bessie was united in marriage with the late James DelBridge. From that union two

daughters, vVanda Herbert and LaDawn DelBridge, and one son, James DelBridge __

Jr., were born.

In 1950, Bessie moved to Jersey City. She attended Public School #22, also in Jersey City. She later attended Lincoln High School. Afterwards, she held various forms of employment, until settling at Bateman. She worked there for eleven years, until her untimely departure.

In June of '1997, Bessie moved onto Fairview Avenue in Jersey City. She was well known and loved in the community. She will be missed by her family and friends.

She is preceded by: her parents, Gossie and Bessie Herbert, her husband, James DelBridge and four brothers, Rubin, William, Rayman and Leo Herbert.

She leave!' to cherish her memory: her chiltken, two daughters, VVanda Herbert and LaDawn DelBridge, and one son, James DelBridge Jr., six sisters, Martha Lee Pryor and Florence Blue of SC, Lilie Alfred of Winston Salem, NC, Evelyn Antley and Willie Covington of Jersey City, NJ, and Mildred Simons of Newark, NJ, nine grandchildren, one great granqchild, and a host of nieces, nephews, family and friends.
The greatest gift we ever had came from God We love you Mom.
