Paul was the last "Button on Jacob's coat" as his mother lone Willie Jackson Davis said. He was the youngest of a family of six children 4 boys and 2 girls. His father was an educator and Principal of the currently named "Jefferson Davis Elementary School" in Columbus Georgia.
Paul's educational background is amazing as it starts at a black elementary school in
Columbus George" Wynnton Annex", then to high school in Washington D.C. where he
lived with his brother John ,then to Dunbar High School in New York where he lived
with his brother Jefferson and finally to Lincoln University at the ripe age of 15. He met
many African Students at Lincoln and befriended both Kwame Nkrumah (First President
of Ghana, and Prime Minister of the Gold Coast) and Dr. N. Azekiwe (who became
President ofNigeria). As a sophomore Paul transferred to Harvard University where he
graduated with a B.S. in the class of 1940 along with classmates : John F. Kennedy and
J.P. Morgan. He wrote many articles for the" Harvard Guardian" and the "Crimson" at
Harvard. Paul then attended Harvard Law School but W.W.II changed his plans and he
joined the Army where he served as a 2nd Lt. in the Military Intelligence Division -
Counter Intelligence Corps as an agent. He completed his Law Degree at New York
Univers_ity and is a member of theN.Y. Bar Association.
'
Paul was Regional Manager for Pepsi Cola International and sold franchises and
established factories in Ghana, Nigeria, Senegal and Fernando Po. He met his wife,
Doris Marie Davis in 1953 in Switzerland and was married in 1957 in Ghana, West
Africa. His only child, Kerry Dee Pitcher, was born in Kumasi, Ghana in 1964. His wife

executed. After the overthrow of the Ghana Government in a Military Coup, Paul and his
family returned to the United States in 1981. He became a partner in Chroma III
Communications that produced Motion Pictures. He retired in 1986 but continued to be a
i
consultant on African Affairs.

These troubles and sufferings of ours are. after alL
quite small and won't last very long.
Yet this short time of distress will result in
God's richest blessing upon us forever and ever.

0 beloved voyager! Welcome to paradise,
your new home, where time is no more,
where past and future blend into eternal now.
All your paths shall be peace, all your ways shall lead to victory and wonder.
You shall not be a fading shadow deep in a forest or on the slopes of a hill,
but a star glittering in the hea11 of heaven.
Eternity shall rest in your right hand~ in your left, there shall be bounties and blessings forevermore.
Your soul shall be filled with jewels of heaven, and your heart shall burst with joy.

~ It l , . , passing voyagers! Death does not put out the light. only shatters the lamp. The light does not die. It only departs and joins the heart of heaven. ~ Like a breeze that stirs the forest, g and spreads the fragrance of flowers,
J death lifts the veil and sets the soul free on its journey home.
