Leroy "Bud" Davis, Jr. was born on March 3, 1941 to Lillie Mae
Crawford and Leroy Davis, Sr. (father deceased}, in Columbia, Louisiana. He spent most of his childhood in Chicago, Illinois. "Bud", as we so lovingly knew him, was married to Evelyn Ware on December 26, 1961 in Chicago, Illinois. To this union three sons were born: Leroy Davis Ill, Darryl Anthony, and Gregory Herman. He moved with his family to Park Forest, Illinois in 1964. Leroy was an employee of the Commonwealth Edison Company in Crestwood, Illinois.
Bud confessed a hop e in Christ and was baptized at an early age. He united with the Greater Faith Baptist Church of Park Forest in 1981.
He departed this life on August 2, 1982 at the Palos Hi lls Community Hospital in Palos Hills, Illinois.
"Bud", as his friends all knew him, loved life and lived it to its fu !lest. He was a caring person who always extended a helping hand to his fellowman. Bud lived with the following philosophy: 1(1 shall pass through this world but once, if therefore, there be any kindness I can show or any good things I can do let me do it now, for I shall not pass this way again". Bud leaves to mourn his passing, his wife Evelyn, three sons, Leroy Ill, Darryl Anthony, and Gregory Herman, of Park Forest; his mother, Mrs. Lillie Mae Davis, one sister, Edna Adams, both of Harvey, Illinois, and a host of relatives and friends.
We can hear him saying to us, ((I have fought a good fight; I have finished my course; I have kept the faith" (II Timothy 4:7} .
We shall miss you, Bud, for we loved you dearly, but we know that God loved you best.
