My Dad, My Dad
Life speeds along and we continue to be amazed by its brevity andpreciousness, but even morewe are awed by the love with which God cares for us and the extent to which He goes to convince us ofHis love.
I did not know how I would react when the time came for God to take you home. I knew when I saw you Fathers Day the time was drawing near. I was so glad I was able to visit andyour grandsons that you dearly loved and who adored and respectedyou so much were able to spend some time talking and reminiscing with you. Dad, I had prayed and petitioned my church to pray that I would be able to talk with you once more before God called you home. He s a good God.
I know, Daddy, this time brings many things - confusion, pain, anger, and sadness, but Dad, when my Mother called and saidyou hadpassed, I rejoicedjust as God had said because I knew then you were atpeace. I know you now exist in a new time, a new place, and a new reality. Our relationship as we know it has been transformedfrom the physical to the spiritual. It has not ended, it has just changed.
Dad, I'll truly miss you, but !feel we will still have those special talks-just you and me- and I will still rely on the advice that only you could give.
I love you, Dad Katie
