Don ' grieve for me, for now I'm free I'm following the path God laidfor me I took his hand when I heard Him call
I turned my back and left it all. I could not stay another day. To laugh, to love, to work or play. Tasks left undone must stay that way, I found that peace at the close ofday.
Ifmy parting has left a void,
Then fill it up with rememberedjoy. A friendship shared, a laugh, a kiss, Oh, yes these things I too will miss. Be not burdened with times ofsorrow, I wish you the sunshine oftomorrow. My lift's been full, I savored much. Goodfriends, good times, a loved one's touch. Perhaps my time seemed all too brief, Don't lengthen it now with undue grief Lift up your heart and share with me, God wanted me now, He set me free!

Clara Copeland was the fifth child ofNapoleon and Laura Childers born on October 10, 1921 in Lizella, Georgia. She was preceded by three sisters: Vivian Randolph, Ruby Ray Bennett, Jewel Wesby, three brothers, Louis Childers, William Eugene Childers Lawson Childers and her late husband, Ernest Leonard Copeland. She is survived by her youngest brother, Terrie! Childers and her three children: Linda, Beverly, Oscar and his wife, Stephanie, and a host of nieces nephews, two grandchildren and four great grandchildren.
Having been raised on a farm set a lifetime foundation of independent thinking, confidence and the know how on how to get things done.
In April of 1947 she married her boyfriend of about ten years, Ernest Leonard Copeland (Ernie). Clara's early developed skills were witnessed during most of her adult life as she and her husband relentlessly served the community with their grocery and luncheonette business. The luncheonette was well known for their hot sausage, Ernie steak, hamburgers hotdog etc. Clara and her husband were respected and highly appreciated in the community that they served. Clara's willingness to serve was appreciated by her immediate and extended family. If you were invited for dinner you could understand the fuss of her southern style candied yams and cooking in general.
Clara encouraged her children to pursue higher education and applauded their educational and career accomplishments .She was a loving mother and introduced her children to the word of God at an early age. She was a God fearing woman and a member of the St. John's Evangelical Lutheran Church in the Bronx for many years.
She will be missed, but never forgotten.
