~daughter ofthe late Charlie

and Daisy Middlebrook, was born March 14, 1939 in Montgomery,

Alabama. On Saturday, November 28, 2009 at 11:30 p.m., an angel

was commissioned to carry our beloved mother home. He wiped her

tears, eased her pain and whispered "I Am" will give you rest. She

was preceded in death by her husband Curtis R. Cook, Sr.; brothers,

Nathaniel Middlebrook and Charles Middlebrook; and her sister-in-

spirit, Dorothy Vincent.

Annie Jean attended Price High School in Atlanta, Georgia where she was an award winning track runner. After high school, Jean was a dedicated employee at Cagel's for 27 years. After leaving Cagel's, Jean joined the Ritz Carlton team and retired after 20 years of service. Throughout her life she was a friend to many and highly respected.

Known fondly as "Jean", she leaves to cherish her memory four sons, Charles Middlebrook, Darryl Middlebrook (Francine), Ronald Middlebrook, Allen Scott (Teresinia) and one daughter, Felicia Ezell (John); brothers and sisters Walter Middlebrook, Elester Middlebrook, Ann Middlebrook, Elaine Benford, and Gladys Middlebrook; eight grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
