Ms. Carrie L. Collins was born in the Pittsburgh community of Atlanta on August 11, 1929. She was the fourth of five children born to Mr. and Mrs. Eugene Collins.
She was a born-again saint, and last attended Greater Christ Holiness Church of the Pentecostal faith. She was educated in the Atlanta school system. She worked various jobs during her life, earlier on as a clerk in a local grocery market. Later, she proudly served on the staff at the Comprehensive Health Center, but was primarily a homemaker and mother to her children. She often related that her greatest accomplishment of life was to successfully rear her children to responsible adulthood, despite hardships.
Ms. Collins is survived by seven children, Mr. Kenneth Collins, Mr. and Mrs. Robert Collins, Mr. and Mrs. Dwight Collins, Mr. and Mrs. Robert Andrews (Portia), Mr. and Mrs. Wayne Collins, Mr. John Collins and Ms. Arrie Collins, all of Atlanta, Georgia; two sisters, Mrs. Elizabeth Long and Mrs. Em me Malone of Atlanta, Georgia; one brother, Mr. Robert Collins of Maryland; fifteen grandchildren, three great-grandchildren, aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and a host of friends.
