Verner was a well-rounded person. While she spent a great deal of time helping others, she also found time to enjoy 5ports. She had five older brothers who all loved sports - three of whom became star athletes. She follmved in their footsteps and became a sports enthusiast. At Howard High School, she was a ferocious guard on the basketball team for her five years there. During her post high school years, she enjoyed playing Tennis and bowling. When she became unable to play herse((. she maintained her love of sports by watching the NFL , NBA and tennis on TV.
Her lo1 e ofsports was exceeded by her love ofher many loyal
