A 11 TIME TO BE BORN" .....Mamie Elizabeth Clemons was born September 21, 1933 in Fayette County, Georgia. She was an only child born to the late Walter Clemons and Elizabeth Clemons Sims. Mamie graduated from Fayette County Training School. She attended Morris Brown College earning a Bachelor's Degree in Education. She made Atlanta her home, and she taught in the Atlanta Public School System for a number of years. After a long career in education, she changed careers and worked at Georgia Baptist Hospital until she retired.
A 11 TIME TO PLANT" .....Mamie joined New Hope United Methodist in Fayetteville, Georgia at an early age. While residing in Atlanta, Georgia, Mamie joined Allen Temple A.M.E. She served as a Sunday school teacher and was a member of the choir for many years. Later she would continue her devotion at Spring Hill Baptist Church, Atlanta, Georgia.
A 11 TIME TO LOVE" .....Mamie loved the Lord! She loved her aunt, cousins, and friends. She loved giving. She sent many contributions to feed the hungry, the Washington Campaign, Easter Seal, Veterans Support, American Red Cross, and many more.
A 11 TIME TO DIE" .....Mamie answered God's call on Sunday, February 15, 2015 to come on up a little higher. She leaves to cherish her loving memories; one aunt, Sarah Clemons; devoted cousins, Ervia (Marvin) Cooper; close cousins, Mary Dan and Melody Butler; Brenda Bailey, Linda Brittian, Diane Harden, Iona Arnold, Earlie Clemons, Mary Frazier and a host of other relatives and friends.
Mamie was dependable, out spoken, and a loyal person to many. She was greatly loved by all and will be missed. Many lives were truly touched by this awesome woman of God. We will deeply miss our beloved Mamie because she was a dear cousin, niece, and friend.
