LEGACY OF LIFE
Then Jesus said, "Come to me, all of you who are weary and carry heavy burdens, and I will give you rest. Matthew 11 :28

Lisa Ann McKenzie Clark was born September 22, 1968 in Sumter County, Georgia to the late Burrell
McKenzie, Sr. and the late Julia Mae Belk McKenzie. The family resided in Marion County, Buena Vista, GA. She was the fourth child born into a family of six siblings and the first girl! Her older brothers, Burrell Jr., Bruce, and Robert Brett, along with their parents, simply adored her-she was beautiful! Lisa later joined in the adoration when Christopher Mance and Lora Renee were born. When Lisa was five years old, she fell in love with tangerines at Christmas. When her baby sister, Lora, arrived in January, she equated her love for tangerines with love and affection for Lora; and to this day, Lora is known by most people as "Tangie."

Upon acceptance of Christ as her Lord and Savior, Lisa joined Poplar Spring Baptist Church, Buena Vista, GA where she was baptized and received the right hand of fellowship. She regularly attended Sunday school, worship service, Union Meetings, Sunday School Conventions, and Central Georgia Missionary Baptist Association conferences. She sang in the Senior and Youth Church choirs and participated 1n special programs. She often returned home to worship, even after relocating to Atlanta, GA. Lisa's mother passed away when she was only 10 years old. She became the matriarch of her family-not because of age, but responsibility. She was very protective of her dad and all of her siblings and went to great lengths to ensure their well-being. Many family members and friends sought and received her confidence, resources, and love. She was beautiful inside and out.

Lisa was educated in the Marion County School District. She graduated from Tri-County High School, Buena Vista, GA in 1986. She attended Meadows College of Business in Columbus, GA where she completed the program for Secretarial Science.

While in high school , Lisa met the love of her life, James Cleve Clark. Her dad was somewhat reluctant to allow dating-not just James, but anyone. As time passed, he acknowledged to family members that he thought James was a "pretty nice boy." They dated throughout high school and with her dad's blessing, they were united in holy matrimony October 7, 1989. The couple relocated to the metropolitan Atlanta, GA area and started their exceptional marriage journey. They always showed love and respect for each other without saying a word. Any differences they had, they kept to themselves . Turns out her dad was right-James is a very nice person and a wonderful husband. They were married for almost 29 years!

After a few temporary assignments and with an impeccable work ethic, Lisa went to work at Delta Airlines.

She was assigned to the airport terminal as a ticket agent. She loved her job and was very diligent. Due to

illness, she retired in 2015. She was employed by Delta Airlines for 24 years. While working there, she

fostered many life-long friendships.

Lisa met and married the love of her life early, but it was not until 1997, eight years later, that she received the unspeakable joy of her life in the person of James Cameron Clark, a beautiful baby boy! She showered him with love and ensured that he had the best of everything-her pride never stopped showing. She taught him to love God, to respect himself and others, to be responsible, and to value honest, hard work. She took that bundle of joy, and together with her husband, James, raised an outstanding young man. James has often stated, "Cameron can run this house as well as I can."

As a God-fearing woman and in keeping with their Christian foundation, Lisa and James attended several churches in the metropolitan Atlanta area before finally settling on a church home. They joined Armour of God Christian Ministry in Jonesboro, GA under the leadership of the late Pastor Kendrick Golden.
The family was very active and supported the church in many ways . Lisa taught Sunday school and bible study and served as a deaconess. As time passed, she became more involved in in-depth study of the Word and announced that she had answered the call from God to preach the gospel. On June 9, 2013, Lisa delivered her initial sermon and became a licensed minister under the auspices of Pastor Golden. Upon the untimely passing of Pastor Golden, Lisa facilitated the worship service at Armour of God Christian Ministry until she was led to found and oversee True Vine Ministry in 2013. With excitement and determination, Lisa embraced her mission. She secured and furnished an edifice and was well on the way to opening for worship when she was diagnosed with colon cancer. Despite her illness, she continued bible study-even by telephone and never missed an opportunity to discuss the scriptures and spread the gospel.
As her health allowed, she worshipped at several churches. In 2018, Lisa sought and found a new church home, Emmanuel Baptist Church in Riverdale, GA under the leadership of Reverend Gregory Ward. She was very happy and content with her new church home.
Lisa was soft-spoken and sometimes quiet. Yet she was a fun-loving, beautiful spirit who loved family gatheri ngs and travel ing . She loved to laugh, especia lly at practical jokes. She loved decorating and rearranging furniture-a trait she inherited from her mom! No matter how beautiful the room, Lisa could always find a way to improve it.
Throughout her extended illness she never failed to visit and call her elderly aunts and relatives as often as she cou ld . Whe n James w anted to get her out of the house afte r a se ri ous illness episode, he w ould ask, " W here do you w ant to go?" She often rep lied , " Take m e to see Au nt Mi nnie," her 91 yea r-o ld au nt. She attended wedd ings, g raduatio ns, birthday celeb rations and any fa mily functio n. She never complained nor entertained a pity-party about her illness. Instead, she offered encouragement and congratulations to all for any accomplishment with prayers, gifts, cards, and social media .
She loved travelling and did so extensively, domestically and abroad with James, Cameron, other family members, and friends. Places she visited include: Rome, Italy, Costa Rica, Cozumel, Mexico, Punta Cana, Dominican Republic, Cancun, Mexico, San Juan, Puerto Rico, Hawaii and St. Thomas, U.S. Virg in Islands to name a few. However, her all-time favorite place to visit was Disney World! She loved travelling so
much , she was in the midst of planning a 50th Birthday trip for herself and her same-age cousins Valerie
Ch inn and Anthony Stewa rd .
Lisa loved God ; sh e loved life ; she lived it to the fullest; she gave generou sly a nd freely to othe rs; she loved unconditionally. While she is dearly loved and sorely missed by those who knew her here on earth, who can begrudge her wholeness in heaven, and seeing her mother for the first time in 40 years!

IF YOU COULD SEE ME NOW
My prayers have all been answered, I've finally arrived The healing that has been delayed, has now been realized
No one's in a hurry, no more schedules to keep, I'm enjoying Jesus, just sitting at His feet
If you could see me now, I'm walking streets of gold
If you could see me now, I'm standing tall and whole If you could see me now, you'd know I've seen Him face to face
If you could see me now, you'd know the pain's erased
You wouldn't want me to ever leave this perfect place
If you could see me now.
My light and temporary trials have worked out for my good To know it brought Him glory, when I misunderstood Though I've had my sorrows, they never can compare
To what Jesus has in store for me, no language can ever share.
If you could only see me now.
