EVERY LIFE IS A RICH TAPESTRY OF MEMORIES, EMOTIONS AND EXPERIENCES. EACH OF OUR LIVES HAS A STORY TO TELL, A MEANING TO UNCOVER.
OUR GATHERING HERE TODAY HELPS US EXPRESS THE IMPORTANCE OF LIFE. IT HELPS TELL THE STORY OF OUR LOVED ONE AND PASS IT ONTO FUTURE GENERATIONS. AS FAMILY AND FRIENDS GATHER, THE PAST BECOMES ALIVE WITH THE TELLING OF EACH STORY, THE REMEMBRANCE OF EACH INCIDENT, THE SHARING OF EACH MEMORY, AND OF OUR RELATIONSHIP TO OUR LOVED ONE.
SO LET TODAY SERVE AS A SWITCHING POINT FROM A RELATIONSHIP OF PRESENCE TO ONE OF MEMORY.

Perhaps you sent a lovely card, or sat quietly in a chair.
Perhaps you sent a floral piece, if so, we saw it there.
Perhaps you spoke the kindest words, as any friend could say.
Perhaps you were not there at all, just thought of us that day.
Wliatever you did to console our hearts, we thank you so much, whatever the part.

I will lift up mine eyes unto the hills, from whence cometh my help. My help cometh from the LORD, which made heaven and earth. He will not suffer thy foot to be moved: he that keepeth thee will not slumber. Behold, he that keepeth Israel shall neither slumber nor sleep. The LORD is thy keeper: the LORD is thy shade upon thy
right hand. The sun shall not smite thee by day, nor the moon by night. The LORD shall preserve thee from all
evil: he shall preserve thy soul. The LORD shall preserve thy going out and thy coming in from this time forth, and even for evermore.

March 21, 1912 was a day of rejoicing in the home of Napoleon and Laura Sanders Childers for a son, Louis Napoleon Childers was born in Bibb County, Lizella, Georgia. He was the second of eight children in this loving family. Five siblings preceded him 1n death. On Tuesday, October 13, 2009, he was called to his final resting place after a brief illness. Prior to relocating to Cincinnati, daddy was a member of Butler Memorial Untied Methodist Church, Bronx, New York.
Daddy followed his paternal aunts to Cincinnati. There, while attending Southern Baptist Church, he met Lila Fletcher and on November 18, 1938, Louis and Lila were united in holy matrimony. This union was blessed with two children: Gwendolyn and Louis.
Daddy believed that hard work was the key to success and a good life. He worked hard all his life, from a boy on his parent's farm growing vegetables and selling produce from his mule drawn wagon on Cherry Street in Macon, Georgia, to working as a laborer at the American Barrell & Cooperage Co., or the slaughter houses and tannery factories in Cincinnati. He always had a job. While working at Consolidated Edison where he retired in 1965, with little to no formal education, he always found work. It did not bother him that the work was menial or labor intensive, he found work to be
satisfying. He was not a scholar, music lover or sports enthusiast. He was however, honest, fair and always giving. He was always willing to lend a helping hand if he thought the person asking for help was genuine and wanted to improve his or her life.
Cherishing memories of his love and devotion are: his loving children, Gwendolyn McCall and Lo~is (Patricia) Childers; his sister, Clara Copeland and his brother, Terrell Childers of Bronx, New York; eight grandchildren, Alan, Frank, Terrence, Deborah, Wesley, Paulette, Kevin and Kendell; 13 great-grandchildren, one preceded in death, eight great-great-grandchildren and two great-great-great-grandchildren; a special friend, Francis Bynoe of Bronx, New York for 55 years; and also a host of friends and relatives. Thanks to all of you at Lake Ridge Villa for the love and care you provided for Louis Childers and the friendliness and kindness you extended to the family.
A precious one from us is gone, A voice we loved is still.
A place is vacant in our home, Which never can be filled.
And after a lonely heartache, And many silent tears;
There's always a beautiful memory, Ofone we loved so dear.
