EVERETT CHANDLER was born April 4, 1936 to the late Ervin and Ruby Jewell Malone Chandler in Atlanta, GA. Everett was a "Grady Baby."
EVERETT was educated in the Atlanta Pubic School system. He found Christ at the age of eight years old and joined the Mount Zion AME Church in College Park, GA. He later relocated to Decatur, Georgia and joined the New Piney Grove Missionary Baptist Church. Everett was married to Josephine Chandler until they divorced. To this union, one child was born.
EVERETT worked in the tree cutting business for over fifty (50) years. He is affectionately known as the "Tree Man." In retirement, Everett found relaxation and enjoyment in hanging out with people, playing in the dirt and gardening. He was a hard working man and thought everyone he met to be a friend.
EVERETT served in the military. His most memorable time was when he served as a paratrooper in Japan for two years on the Island of Kyushu from 1954-1955. Maybe that's why he wasn't' afraid of heights and could climb tall trees with no thoughts to. how high he was up there.
EVERETT is survived by 3 sons, Edward (Vanessa) Chandler and Daniel (Dorothy) Tinch both of Atlanta, GA; 1 sister, Hattie Ruth Jones of Atlanta, GA; loving neighbors who were more like family, William and Rubbie Baker; a host of other relatives and friends. He will be missed by his church family.
"Don't be concerned about me now. I'm well with God. I've made it home!"
