Bertha G. Cauthern was born on June 1, 1926 to the late Cleveland and Georgia L. (Sims) Frazier in Fulton County, Atlanta, Georgia.
She attended Crogman Elementary and Washington High Schools. She married Henry F. Cauthern in March, 1946.
Bertha attended cosmotology school and was a beautician until she started working at Rayloc, Inc. She retired from there in 1986 due to illness. She was one of the founders of Metro Atlanta Women Golfers, Inc., a non-profit organization to promote golf among black women in the Atlanta area.
She attended (Old) Zion Hill Baptist Church where she was an active member until she transferred her membership to New Bethel Missionary Baptist Church. She reunited with Zion Hill in 1988, where she was in the choir until her illness left her unable to attend. She was a member of the Advisory Board of Lincoln Memorial Gardens and a member of the Georgia Citizens' Coalit ion on Hunger.
She departed this life on Saturday, December 2, 1989 and leaves to cherish loving memories, a loving daughter, Claudia A . Thomas, Trotwood, Ohio; guardian son, Kourvoisier Frazier; two brothers, Mr. and Mrs. Nathaniel Frazier (Beulah), and Mr. and Mrs. A. W. Frazier (Ann); ten godchildren, nine nieces and nephews, twenty-one grandnieces and nephews; two aunts-in-law, Mrs. Jamie McFarlin, Detroit, Michigan, and Mrs. Mozella King, Thomaston, Georgia; a devoted cousin, Louise King Armour; the Kings and Lawson families, and a host of cousins, other relatives, friends and loved ones.
