In the midst of serenity, beauty and godliness, Mrs. Annie Gwynn Cannon made her exit from her earthly home to a lantl that is forever free from sickness, so"ow, pain, and death on Tuesday, November 23, 2010 at Danville Regional Medical Center. She was the beloved daughter of the late James Gwynn and Effie Badgett Gwynn born on February 23,--1918 in Caswell County, North Carolina.
Aunt Annie she was called by many, was a member ofMineral Springs Baptist Church, where she was mother of the church, deaconess, Sunday school teacher, sung in the senior choir, and served on the kitchen committee.
She attended and graduatedfrom the Caswell County Training School, and later she worked in the Caswell County School System as a cafeteria worker before retirement.
She was preceded in death by one son, Leroy Cannon; one grandson, Michael Robinson; three sisters, Mary Addie Falden, Drew Mims, and Fannie Whittle; three brothers, George Gwynn,. Hurley Gwynn, and John Gwynn.
She leaves to cherish her life, her devoted husband of 71 years, Rayfreld Cannon of the home, three daughters, Miami Jones (Willie) of Pelham, NC, Ann'ie D. Elliott of Leasburg, NC, and Effre Cole (Clinton) of Chesterfield, Va.; Five sons, James Cannon (Ethel) of Danville, Va., Ulysses Cannon (Margaret) of Ruffin, NC, Charlie Cannon ( Pam ) Portsmouth, Va., Larry Cannon ( Phyllis ) of Fayetteville, NC and John Cannon (Belinda) of Pelham; Five sisters, Fadonia Watlington (Percy) of Stoney Creek, NC, Naomi Smith of Santa Maria, California, Evelyn Brown ofRuffin, NC, Jennie Jackson of Washington, DC, and Ruby Bradley (Richard) of Bowie, Md; two brothers, Otis Gwynn (Audrey) of P_elham, NC and Joseph Gwynn of Yanceyville, NC, 3 7 grandchildren; 28 great grandchildren; 2 greatgreat grandchildren, a host ofnieces; nephews, and cousins.
