Edna Mae Byrd was born April 23, 1947 in Zebulon, Georgia to Mr. Roscoe and Blanche Hines. She transitioned to her heavenly home on April28, 2014.
Edna accepted Christ at an early age and attended Emmanuel Baptist Church. She taught her family to always depend and trust God, and motivated all to achieve their highest potential. Her greatest skill was survival, she always made a way to keep her family together despite the circumstances.
She was an inspiration to all who knew her. Edna always had a smile on her face and the perfect joke to save the day. She was truly the rock of the family.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Herschel Gerald Byrd, Sr. who proudly served this country through the military; three sisters: Virginia, Christine, and Louis; three brothers: Turner, Clarence, and Bow.
She leaves to cherish her memory: her loving children: Patricia, Herschel, J oyland, Angela, Eric, Gary, Pam, and Darryl; two daughters-in-law, Melanie and Vivian Byrd; twenty-two grandchildren, twenty-seven great-grandchildren; three siblings, Sarah Harris, LJ Hines, and Bennett Hines.
We ask you to celebrate with us her homegoing service.
