born on january 7, 1925 to the late Cleveland Moore and louise Hughes Moore in Macon, Georgia.

c9f @e.me ~ ~et:.. Evelyn received her early education at Green
Street Elementary School and graduated from Hudson High School in 1943.
c9f @e.me <ffo ~e... Evelyn Butts-Coles was married to Eugene Butts
who preceded her in death. Evelyn later married Theodore Coles of Newark, New jersey who affectionately referred to her as 11My Dear.. and his demise came in 1995. Although she had no children of her own, she had a heart of gold for all children. The circle of love for Evelyn includes three sisters, Annie Patrick, Macon, Georgia, Cleoria Lain, Hampton, Georgia, and Rosa Suarez, Macon, Georgia; nieces, Charlene (Isaac) Grant, Macon, Georgia, Paula Ooseph) Snowden, McDonough, Georgia, Evelyn Mathis and Carol Bowens, Hampton, Georgia, Karen (larry) Suarez~King, Los Angeles, California; nephews, Daryl Oean) Dennis, College Park, Georgia, and Anthony Suarez, Atlanta, Georgia. She was like a second mother to her great nephew, Ateron (Patricia) Dennis. She had five great nieces, Marclette Snowden, Coneshia (Kenneth) Bowens jackson, Rhodarra Dennis, Maria Mathis, Dara Dennis; and three great nephews, joseph Bowens, III, joseph Snowden, Ill, and Robert Grant; three great, great nieces, Shawnese Pryor, Rachel Dennis, and jazmyne jackson; and one great, great nephew, john Dennis. She was godmother to Rhonda, Keith and Brittany Reid. She was further blessed with numerous cousins.

P!Jiant-ed... Evelyn moved to Newark, New jersey after high school where
she was employed by a sewing factory that made coats. She was later employed by the VA Hospital from which she retired. She was a faithful member of St. james A.M.E. Church in Newark. Evelyn relocated to Macon, Georgia in 1992. She then rejoined Steward Chapel A.M.E. Church.

Saturday, February 28, 2004 at Eastview Nursing Home surrounded by her family.
