No more pain, no more sorrows, our Heavenly Father has called her home. Lillian Hawthorn Butler took her rest on Wednesday, June 23, 2004 at St. Mary's Hospital, Brooklyn, New York.

Born, July 10, 1927, 1n Scottdale, Georgia, to the late Deacon George Thomas and Mother Maggie Bell Lee, Lillian was the sixth of eleven children.

She attended Avondale High School in DeKalb County and later furthered her career at Apex Beauty Culture School. Lillian relocated to New York City in 1947 where she met her husband, George Butler. They both were entrepreneurs of B & L Tailors. Lillian was affiliated with the Berean Missionary Baptist Church, Brooklyn, New York, where Dr. Arlee Griffin, Jr. serves as Pastor.

Leaving to cherish her memories are, a devoted daughter; Denise Hawthorn of Brooklyn New York. Two sisters; Lois Slade of Atlanta, Georgia; Thelma Ward of Decatur, Georgia. Three brothers; Thurston (Rose) Lee of Atlanta, Georgia; Edgar (Vivian ) Lee of Lake Ariel, Pennsylvania, and Herman (Hazel) Lee of Decatur, Georgia. Three sister in laws; Ida Ruth Cooper of Augusta, Georgia, Mattie Sally of Augusta, Georgia, and Geneva Love of Washington, D.C. A host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other family members and friends.
