Kathleen Burrowes was born on October 10, 1939 in Georgetown, Guyana, to the late Veronica Vieira. She resided in Alberttown, Georgetown with her maternal grandmother, then moved to Lodge Housing Scheme to live with her late brother Ferdinand Vieira and his family. She married Alfred Burrowes and bore three children: Shondelle, Darren and Roel.
I<athleen and her family migrated to the US in 1988 and settled in Brooklyn, New York. She worked at North General Hospital in Harlem, New York until her retirement in 2009. Four years after her retirement, I<athleen relocated to Snellville, Georgia in 2013 to be with her daughter and grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her son Darren, and husband Alfred.
Kathleen is survived by two children: Shondelle Moe of Snellville, Georgia and Roel Burrovves of Guyana. She is also survived by six grandchildren: Tevin, Tatiana, Tariq, Tyrell, Talyah, and Abigail; son-in-law, Eze Moe; nieces and nephevvs: Jacqueline, Jerome (Cheryl), Rickford (Dawn), Maxine, Yonnette and Hollis Vieira; Allison Fraser (Compton), Leslyn Vieira-Lyken Gunior), and Suzette Vieira-Peele (Claude); Peter (Ermalita), Shawn and Neraun !<nights, Roxanne Knights-Charles (Leon), Thelma Knights-Baker (Brentnol), and Loraine Knights-
Todd 0ohn); and cousins, Ralph and Patrick Blakeney
(Fredell).
I<athleen, Auntie I<ay as she was fondly called, was a peaceful soul who was loved by everyone who crossed her path. She was hard-working, loved Jim Reeves music, loved her family and was fun to be around. She will be missed by who knevv and loved her.
