Henrietta "Chicken" Phelps Bryant lVOS born on June 26, 1945 to Deacon Eddie Lee Phelps, & Mattie Mae Berry Phelps in Hampton, Georgia. She was the 3rd of twelve children, one of which preceded her in death.
She attended Henry County Training School and graduated as Salutatorian of her class in 1963. She enrolled in Barber-Scotia College, Concord North Carolina, where she earned her degree in Business Management. She worked faithfully for Amoco Oil until the job relocated to Texas.
At an early age she confessed her life to Christ and united with the Mt. Olive Baptist Church. She later became a member of Red United Methodist Church where she served and workedfaithfully in both churches.
Her memory will be cherished by her devoted parents, Deacon & Mrs. Eddie Lee Phelps; ten sisters & brothers, Mrs. Mildred Hines, Ms. Carolyn Scott, Mr. Eddie James Phelps, Mr. Herman (Nadine) Phelps, Deacon Steve (Peggy) Phelps, Ms. Ernestine Phelps, Mr. Melvin (Dale) Phelps, Mr. Tim Phelps, Mrs. Janice (Norman) Gleaton, and Mrs. Sherry/ (Iverson) Martin. A devoted friend Mr. Willie Whitehead. Three Aunts; Mrs. Isabelle Lewis, Mrs. Annie (Edward) Jackson, and Mrs. Dorothy Phelps. A host of nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews, relatives andfriends.
