And each day as it comes l.- \....~J':o\".1' .., Brings a chance to each one
To love to the fullest,
Of some weary traveler Lost on life's road
So what does it matter How long we may live If as long as we live

DR. WILLIAM FLIPPIN, OFFICIATING
A LIFE TO BE REMEMBERED
Mrs. Earl Moore Cotton Bryant
"Who can find a virtuous woman? for her price is far above rubies. Strength and honor are her clothing, she shall rejoice in time to come. S he openeth her mouth with wisdom; and in he~ tongue is the law of kindness. Many daugh ters have done virtuously, but thou excel/est them all.
Selected from Proverbs 31:10 - 31
In a time of sorrow it can be consoling to reflect how our lives have been enriched by t he love we have given and the love we have received. Those we have cared about leaving treasures behind that time can never take away. Sweet it is to have known and loved a dear one than never to have had this experience at all.
Friday morning, July 11, 1997 at 8:12 AM an angel of the Lord came to Mrs. Earl Lee Bryant and translated her from this toil of life to sweet rest and fellowship with the saints in Heaven. Peacefully, quickly and softly he said, "Come home my child, Peace be thine." Without turning back to bid us farewell she crossed into a land that is fairer than day.
Born in Philadelphia, Mississippi, September 19, 1921, she was
the oldest child of the late John Henry and Bessie Hudnall Moore.
She lived her childhood and young adult life in Philadelphia,
Mississippi. Her youthful years were devoted to learning, achieving
and developing seeds which would spawn bountiful fruit in later years.
She was a product of the public school system in Mississippi. There
she learned the importance of hard work, determination and the
rewards which accompany them. In 1942, she moved to Macon, Georgia
and began her christian journey. She led a remarkable life devoted
to untiring christian service.
She' w~s a businesswoman, the owner and operator of Cotton's
Beauty Shop and Cafe'. AB a master cosmetologist, she touched many
lives leading them to Christ. Her christian work began in the Old
Georgia Baptist Convention and many local associations in the Middle
Georgia area. Her christian education was completed in May 1963
from the American Baptist Theological Seminary of Nashville,
Tennessee. She worked tirelessly for over 30 years serving as Vacation
Bible School Director under the auspices of the Georgia Baptist
Convention. Her years of christian service were highlighted as she
served as Women's Convention President of the New Era Baptist State
Convention for two terms and as President of the Women's Department
of the Progressive Baptist Convention for two terms. To each of these
conventions she brought a deep sense ofcommitment and genuine love.
She assumed each new responsibility with eagerness, joy~ delight and
happiness. She was indeed a part of a spiritual fellowship making
a difference in the lives ofothers. She provided outstanding leadership to both organizations. She was a~ actiy e member in every aspect of
the Tremont Temple Baptist Church where she was past president 1
of the Missionary Department. At the time of her death, she was a
1 f
Sunday School teacher of the adult class.
1-~i
She was retired from the Atlanta Life Insurance Company and the
Bibb County Health Department.
Mrs. Earl C. Bryant devoted herself to people both professionally and through community and church work. She inspired and uplifted the lives of many and she will live on through the many children and adults she touched. She was loved by all who knew her and she will be greatly missed. Her smile, her encouraging words, her spiritual strength, just her presence made a difference. She was always willing and ready to do whatever she was called upon to do. Her record of giving and caring was often recognized. Through the years she received numerous honors and citations. She was recognized by President Bill Clinton in Kansas City for her outstanding achievements as a christian leader.
Her life will always be remembered and sweet memories cherished by her loving and dedicated caretakers whom she lovingly and affectionately called "her children: Rev. Dr. and Mrs. Walter L.
