Shawn Romeo Bristol was born May 16,1970 in Flint, Michigan. His family moved to Ann Arbor in 1976. He attended Ann Arbor Public Schools, graduating from Huron High School in 1988. At Huron, he was active in the Black Student Union and Student Council. Shawn excelled at all sports and played Varsity Football. He was Junior Class President and Senior Class Vice-President. He organized a student group to defeat the architectural plan to close the famous Huron Arch. He won and the Huron Arch still stands. Shawn had a special effect on people. Faculty, staff and students alike looked to Shawn to get things done. He was well respected and loved. He continued his education at Albion College and Eastern Michigan University. We all knew his favorite team was the Chicago Bulls.
He accepted Christ at an early age and joined Second Baptist Church where he participated regularly in the Sunday School and Youth Choir. As a young man in his early twenties, he renewed his confession of Christ.
He began his career in food service management at Mott Children's Hospital and after several promotions with other companies, he was most recently employed by Marriott International as an Assistant Manager. He was very proud of his opportunity to open and manage a new store this coming May.

Shawn will be remembered for his w onderful smile, his ability to laugh, his commitment to his family and friends . His joy in life and w hat he most loved was being a father to Mavrick. He was a faithful and devoted father. Family gatherings were special to Shawn.

You told us you loved us in so many ways. You told us that we shouldn't fret for the Lord isn't nearly, no ways, no how, truly not done with you yet.
You told us be patient, you're just getting started... that you still have a long way to go; So provide all the tools to continue my journey I will never just talk, only show
-Love, Michael
I'll show you just how a young, Black man should be: respectful, responsible and true; I'll say it, "You Can" to the nephews and nieces. Just .Stick to the fight till you're through.
I'll continue my journey with Jesus in Heaven, so all of my dreams will come true. Just remember you young ones to follow my lead, And just stick to the fight 'till you're through. - I Love You All,
Shawn
