Obituary
After an extended illness, On June 7, 2015 Sunday, God in his infinite wisdom quietly closed the eyes of our beloved relative and friend, Mildred Smith Brightwell.
Mildred was the daughter of the late Roger and Thelia Durden Smith of Dekalb County. Mildred was born 1110111947 and departed this life on Sunday June 7, 2015 at her residents.
Mildred attended Dekalb County Public School system and graduated from high school. At a young age she married her sweetheart James E. Brightwell during the month of July 1968. To this union of forty six years four children were born: Anthony (Latasha) Brightwell, Sheila Brightwell, Darrell Brightwell, and Maria Brightwell all of Decatur, Georgia. She have two sisters: Elaine (Marshall-deceased) Mcintosh and Tonie Smith. Four brothers: Marvin (Nickname-Chin) Smith, Willie (Dale) Smith, Eric Smith, Levonzo (Nickname-Tuna) Smith. A host of Grandchildren, Great Grandchildren, and extended family and friends.
Mildred was a very quiet and soft spoken person but do not be fooled Mildred had a way of asking questions and gathering information. She was very observant and from her window view she enjoyed looking out at the world and enjoyed the natural light and breezes. She never shared her thoughts or raised her voice, but you knew that she had something on her mind. On Sunday morning the breeze blew though her window and softly called her name Mildred answered with her shy smile.
Yes, we will miss her, but that smile and quite laugh will always linger in our hearts.
