What happens to a dream deferred?
Does it dry up like a raisin in the sun? Or fester like a soreAnd then run? Does it stink like rotten meat? Or crust and sugar over like a syrupy sweet? Maybe it just sags like a heavy load. Or does it explode? ... Or does it explode?
The Honorable Harris C. Bostic had a dream. He had a dream that he would entertain a career as a successful attorney, and one day become a judge. He had a dream that he would provide for his family and send his four children to post secondary schools of learning without the financial strain he suffered putting himself through college. He persevered and pushed himself to reach his goals and fulfill his dreams. For the day did arrive when he, robed in black, accepted the responsibilities and position of an Atlanta City Court Judge. His wife and three surviving children are very grateful to him for serving as an excellent provider, mentor, supporter, friend, disciplinarian, and role model. The Honorable Harris Clemen Bostic is proof of what can happen to a dream not deferred; it becomes a reality.
Harris is survived by his wife, Joyce; sons, Harris II and Anthony; daughter, Joi; sister, The Reverend J. Alberta Oliver; and a host of other relatives and friends.
Daddy,
You've always said that all shut eyes ain't sleep and all goodbyes ain't gone. So, until we meet again.
Love you always, Joi-Joi
