In loving memory, Dad
He never looked for praises, He was never one to boast; He just went on quietly working, For the ones he loved the most.
His dreams were seldom spoken, His wants were very few; And most of the time his worries, Went unspoken too!
He was there ....A ftrm foundation, Through all our storms of life; A sturdy hand to hold on to, In times of stress and strife.
A true friend we could turn to, When times were good or bad;
One of our greatest blessings, the man that we called Dad. Author Unknown

OBITUARY
Loel Lonell Booker (also known as "Booker") passed away peacefully, surrounded by family on March 31, 2017 at Harbor Hospice in Dallas, TX. He was born in Dallas on September 26, 1935 to Willie Lee and Bennie "Lucille" Patterson Booker; he was the third of seven children. Lonell grew up in south Dallas and attended Lincoln High School.
After Booker graduated from high school in 1955, he made his way to Washington D.C. , to attend Howard University. He started working for the United States Postal Service to make extra money for school. His best friend at work, Wilbur "Jack" Jackson, introduced him to the woman who held his heart for over 40 years, Ardell Fairfax. They fell in love but "Uncle Sam" called him up and he entered into the Army in 1958. After he served his country, Booker returned to work at the United States Postal Service and worked there for almost 36 years until he retired in 1993. He also came back to Ardell_and they were married in 1961 with their hearts linked together until her passing in July 2000.
While attending the Lincoln High School Reunion in Dallas, Booker connected with his classmate, Irma Frank, and they were married in 2002. He moved back to Dallas and became a member of the Oak Cliff Bible Fellowship on January 24, 2006, serving faithfully in the Parking Lot Ministry. He often mentored and sponsored young men to further their educational and spiritual development.
Booker enjoyed a good western, a great golf match, and of course, he could always be found watching his beloved Washington Redskins. He was a proud season ticket holder for almost 30 years. He loved the times he spent with his family and friends. He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.
Booker is remembered with love by his wife, Irma Booker; his children: Lynell Booker-Marsh, Cedric Frank, Stefanie Booker Atchison, Thomas Frank, Steven (Toni) Booker and Leslie (Marvin) Middleton; his sister, Betty Page; his brothers: Richard Booker, Paul Wayne (Gloria) Childs, and James (Yvonne) Childs; his brother-in-law, Major Anderson II; 16 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren and a host of loving nephews, nieces, blended family, classmates and friends.
