Heaven Is Never Too Far.. .
~
Words cannot explain how much you mean to me. Nothing could even compare or ever be.
You are my Papa, my one and only; you are my leaning post. Although I love my family you are the one I love most.
Even though you have left, you will still be in my heart. You will always be real close even though we are far apart.
While you are in heaven, please watch over and help me as I grow. You have taugl\t me so much. but there is still so much more to know.
I am not going to say good-bye or that I cannot go on. I will say I love you, and see you later, even though you are gone. I love you Papa, more than you will ever know.
I know you will be in heaven as a shining star no matter how far away you seem, heaven is never too far.
Your loving Daughter. Kala

06ituary
Johnny Blalock was born on December 12, 1951 in Atlanta, Georgia. to the union of the late Charlie & Louise Blalock. He was preceded in death by a brother, Charlie (Nippi) Blalock, Jr.
When considering Johnny's life, three words come to mind"friendly", "funny", and "father".
Johnny was truly friendly. His love for people made him the go-to guy when you needed a listening ear. He always had time for you.
Johnny was funny and fun to be around. He always managed to subtly draw a smile or laughter under any circumstances. His welcoming smile, and his witty and humorous comments kept people coming back for more.
Above all else, Johnny was a father. Johnny dedicated his life to the task of taking care of and providing for his children. Nothing mattered more to him than making sure they had a decent and clean home, food, clothing, and health care. He managed his meager finances like an astute businessman so that he could keep the lights on and keep the water running and, although walking was painful for him, he would not hesitate to catTy his children to the doctor at the slightest sign of illness.
Although Johnny never finished High School, in the school of life he was a true scholar. His accomplishments, despite his limited education, stand as testament to his determination, strong will, and his ability to think through and solve all kinds of problems. Johnny was a strong and proud man. He never asked for hand-outs or charity. Instead, he always offered to use his hands to earn anything he needed for his children. And , if he ever borrowed from you, you could be assured that he would do his best to pay you back when he said he would.
He was truly blessed and loved by his children, and family, as well as his many friends . He is and will be forever honored in our hearts, minds and spirits.
Johnny is survived by his wife Shanika Ann Blalock, sons, Nicholas Hinton, and Jonathan Lee Blalock, daughters Kala Nicole Blalock, and Brittany Louise Blalock, siblings, James E. Woods ( Rita), James H. Woods (Tracy), Timothy L. Blalock, Bobby Blalock (Sheila), Betty Davis ( Inman), Annie L. Woods, John Brown, Mary Brown, Gloria Blalock-Kitchens (Bobby). Three (3) grandchildren, a host of nieces and nephews, Four (4) godchildren, a special friend (Rhonda Nottingham), and many others who dearly loved him.
