He joined the Springf~eld Baptist Church at an early age, and early JJlis year he moved his membership to Mount Olive:- Ba'ptist Church where Rev. R. B. Lankford is :;!'astor. He . ~~~rved his country in the U. S. Army for eight years. He was a member of the Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity.
