Mrs. Pauline Black went home to be with her personal Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ on May 24, 2003 with her husband and children by her bedside at Ghrist Hospital in Jersey City, New Jersey. Mrs. Black was the daughter of the late Larry and Millie _Abner. She was born in Beaufort, South Carolina on May 4, 1926.., It was 48 years ago, that Mrs. Black was wed to James Black. They became residents of Jersey City, New Jersey 43 years' ago.
Together they have reared ten children. Surviving chiJdren are, Mrs. Richardean Hinds of Tobyhanna PA; Mr. Rheuben Herbert Jr. of Queens, NY; (Reti red LTC) Leroy Abner Sr. of Fayetteville, NC; Ms. Ethel Abner of Foster City, CA; Rev. Robin Black of Chesapeake, VA; Mr. Paul Black of Jersey City, NJ ; Ms. Yvonne Black of Newark, NJ; Ms. Gwendolyn Black of Jersey City,
NJ ; Ms. Susie Black of Delran , NJ and Mrs. Patricia Turpin of Beaufort, sc.
Extended family includes (In-Laws) Mr. Earl Hinds, Mrs. Julie Abner, Rev.
Audrey Black and Mr. Dwayne Turpin. She was blessed with fifteen grand
ch ildren and four great-grand children.

Sister Black is a Church Mother who gave her life to Christ at an early age.
She was a devoted and active men_1ber of Monumental Baptist Church
since 1965. During her tenure, Sister Black served in many of the church
organizations. She was a member of the Gospel Chorus where her favorite
song, "One Day At a Time," expressed the way she lived her life. She was
also member of the Women's Choir, Women's Day Choir, Voices Of Monu-
mental, a[ld the New Jersey Prayer Line.
She,attended and is a graduate of Shepard Bible Institute In Jesus, where Bishop James Heron, Sr. is the bean. After the completion of all required course work, she obta ined a certif icate in Evangelistic study.
"Paula, " as her co-workers fondly knew her, retired after 25 years of devoted employment at the Sa brett Meat Packing Company of Jersey City, New Jersey.
Throughout l)er life, she had shown herself to be a loving wife, mother,
grandmothe.r and ;_Christian to many people who had crossed her path. And for this ~ we are. so grateful to God for havingher in our lives. To God be the ~~-
