A time to be born Bon~1ie Bell Binion was born on April 23, 1949 in Madison, Georgia to the late Oscar and Leona (Boone) Mapp. She was also preceded in death by one sister, Delores Carter.
A time to live Bonnie graduatedfrom Pearl High School, Class of 1967; she attended Texas Southern University and the University ofGeorgia. She majored in biology. Bonnie was full oflife, a joy to talk to and work with, always telling jokes to make you laugh. She loved sewing and spoiling her two grandsons. She was employed by Hercules/Fibervisions for 27 years. After retirement Bonnie was elected as the first African-American female in Morgan County for the District 5 City Council Seat.
A time to serve
Bonnie accepted Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior at an early age andjoined Calvary Baptist Church where she servedfaithfUlly on the Ushers Ministry and diligently attended Sunday school, Bible study, and Church. Bonnie also attended Elohim Prophetical Tabernacle until her health declined.
A time to reflect
Bonnie transitionedfrom labor to reward on Monday August 18, 2014 at St. Mary's Hospital in Athens, Georgia, a sweet transition it was. She leaves to cherish her memories: Her daughter Minister Beverly Shea Green (Paul), nvo grandsons: PJ and Philip Green, two sisters: her fY.;in; Mrs. Beverly Gordon (Milledge), Mrs. Lurene Wyatt (Eddie), and four brothers: Leonard Mapp (Geneva), Gerald Mapp (Barbara), Max and Michael Mapp all ofMadison, Georgia; nvo aunts: Jessie M. Templeton ofHouston, Texas and Sallie Ree Gilbert (Solomon) ofMadison, Georgia; also a host ofnieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives andfriends.
