I'm Free Don' t grieve for me, for now I'm free I'm following the path God has laid you see. I took His hand when I heard him call
I turned my back and left it all. I could not stay another day
To laugh, to love, to work, to play. Tasks left undone must stay that way I found that peace at the close of day.
If my parting has left a void Then fill it with remembered joy. A friendship shared, a laugh, a kiss Oh yes, these things I too will miss. Be not burdened with times of sorrow I wish you the sunshine of tomorrow. My life' s been full, I savored much Good friends, good times, a loved one's touch. Perhaps my time seemed all too brief Don't lengthen it now with undue grief. Lift up your hearts and peace to thee God wanted me now; He set me free.

Obituary
Franklin Delano Beasley was born on June 8, 1939 in Milledgeville, Georgia. He departed this life on May 12, 2013. Growing up in East Point, Georgia, Franklin attended East Point Elementary School and South Fulton High School. He was a lifelong member of Grant Chapel AME Church where he accepted Christ as his Savior at an early age. He was a faithful member who truly loved the Lord.
After graduating from high school in 1958, Franklin married Ann Gertrude Miles of Milledgeville, Georgia who preceded him in death in 1989. Together Franklin and Ann raised three children. Franklin worked for 35 years as a warehouseman and forklift operator with Super Value Warehouse. After he retired he spent his remaining years caring for his mother.
In his leisure, Franklin enjoyed the company of friends and family. Until his health prevented him from traveling, Franklin attended all family reunions where he celebrated the family's legacy of togetherness. An avid music lover, Franklin listened to a wide selection of music, especially gospel music. One of his favorite groups was the Soul Stirrers with Sam Cook as lead singer.
Franklin was a beloved son, eldest brother, and father who will be truly missed. He leaves to cherish his memory: three children, Victor (Cynthia) Beasley of Marietta, Georgia, Elizabeth Beasley of Atlanta, and Franklin Beasley, Jr. of Atlanta; Mother, Pauline Holsey Beasley of Atlanta; brothers, Lemmie Smith of Akron, OH, Millard Beasley(Lanella) of Atlanta, Paul Beasley (Pamela) of Irmo, SC, and Marvin Beasley (Crystal) of Decatur; sister, Grace Terrell (Credric) of Atlanta; five grandchildren (Antwain, William, Latoyia, Bethany, and Marvin); one great-grandchild (Michael); and a very special friend, Patricia Barnett.
