The family of Mable Gholston Battle is grateful beyond measure for the expressions of sympathetic concerns that have been extended to us. We believe that "grief is lessened when it is shared", and your sharing this bereavement period with us has made the pain easier to bear. Each act and deed brought consolation. May God find favor in your Christian endeavors and may He richly bless each of you!

The Reverend A. J. McMichael Officiating
Mable Gholston Battle, the daughter of the late Tommy and Rilla Gholston, was born March 27, 1925 in Chipley, Georgia. While in her youth, the family moved to the Atlanta area, where she attended Booker T. Washington High School.
On May 21, 1941, she united in holy matrimony to the late Frederick Ned Battle and to this union six children were born; one preceded her in death, Garry Battle.
Mother accepted Christ at an early age at the Bethany Baptist Church. Later, she became a member of the GreaterMt. Pleasant Baptist Church where she was a long and faithful member until her health declined .
Very quietly and peacefully she departed this earthly realm and entered into eternal rest on Saturday, March 30, 2002 at the DeKalb Medical Center, Decatur, Georgia.
She leaves to cherish her memory, four daughters, Ms. Jeanette Stargen Battle, Ms. Dorothy Ann Francis, Mr. and Mrs. Paul Thomas (Sylvia), and Mr. and Mrs. Charles Bailey (Gail); one son, Donald Battle; five grandchildren, two greatgrandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives
and friends.
Mothers Never Die They Just Keep House Up In The Sky
When we are children , we are happy and gay . And our MOTHER is young and she laughs as we play . Then as we grow up, she teaches us truth , and lays life's foundation in the days of our youth- And then it is time for us to leave home. But her teachings go with us wherever we roam , for all that she taught us and all that we did when we were so often just a "bad , little kid ". We will often remember and then realize that MOTHERS ARE SPECIAL and WONDERFULLY WISE ... And as she grows older, we look back with love, knowing that MOTHERS ARE "GIFTS FROM ABOVE". And when she "goes home" to receive her reward, she will dwell in GOD'S KINGDOM and "KEEP HOUSE FOR THE LORD". Where she'll "light up" in the stars that shine through the night, and keep all the moonbeams "sparkling and bright". And then with the dawn she'll put the darkness away, as she "scours" the sun to new brilliance each day ... So dry tears of sorrow, for MOTHERS DON 'T DIE- They just move in with God and "KEEP HOUSE IN THE SKY," and there in GOD'S KINGDOM , MOTHERS watch from above to welcome their children with their UNDYING LOVE!
