On May 26.1979, three minutes after the birth of his twin brother Antwon~ Drmvon Rodrickus Barr made his presence known to his mother, Sally L. Barr, and to the world.
With Christian guidance from his mother and grand mother, Ruby L. Barr, he gave his life to Christ and was baptized at Grace United Methodist Church at an early age. His God-given musical talents led him to play the drums for several churches and trumpet in the Newton County School system band program. In his years at Newton High, he won several awards for Outstanding Brass in the marching band. He graduated from Newton High School in 1997.
He entered Morris Brown College in Atlanta, Georgia in the fall of 1997 majoring in Music Industry. Drawon was a dedicated member of the famous " Marching Wolverines" marching band and the Concert Band at Morris Brown. His love and commitment to these organizations led him to become Section Leader in the marching band. Drawon was also a valuable member of the Kappa Kappa Psi and Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternities. Drawon worked diligently in all he pursued. He nev er said "I can't." His spirit inspired and impacted the lives of all who came to know him. Always with a smile, he gave his best and helped others to do so as well. The sun set on October 27,2002 when God whispered to Drawon and called him home. Leaving to cherish his precious memories: mother and step-father, Mr and Mrs Cornelius and Sally L.(Barr) Mitchell, father and step-mother, Mr and Mrs. Daniel and Linda Petty, Brothers: Antwon Barr, Ricky Barr, Dedrick Petty, Daniel Petty, and Jarvis Giles, Sisters: Kimiyana Mitchell, Brittany Giles, Danielle Petty, Grandmothers: Ruby L. Barr and Annie Kate Petty, God- Grandmother: Evelyn Tuggle, Grandfather: Willie George Petty, Great- Grandmother: Jonnie Mae Mitchell, Uncles: William Barr, Cedric Cook, Willie Petty, and Henry Petty, God-uncle: Ed Henderson, Aunt: Mr. and Mrs. Edward (Carla) Browning, God-aunt: Tilda Lewis, Special Friend: Shanteka Crutcher and a host of other uncles, aunts, cousins relatives and friends.
