Annie L. Barnett was born in Morrow, Clayton County, Georgia to Mr. and Mrs. Charles (Lizzie) Adams October 20, 1929. She started and attended grade school beginning in the year 1935. After completing grade school, she furthered her education by attending Jonesboro High School and finished in 1946. December of 1947, she married Mr. Alvin Barnett, United States Navy Veteran during World War II. Mr. Barnett, preceded her in death January of 1983. Alvin and Annie Lois was the proud parents of eight children. They are Alfred, Sherri, Gail (preceded her in death December of 1977), Anthony, Cortez, Lindsay, Vema, and Stoney.
Annie was always called by her friends and relatives by the first names as Ann Lois and Mrs. Ann Lois by the younger children and friends in her community. Many of us that knew Ann Lois won't forget her kindness and friendship toward all people. Age or color of people didn't matter. She respected all people. Over the years, people that knew Ann Lois and those who came to know her, once they had the pleasure to taste some of her cooking, always praised her for her cooking. Man! She really could cook.
During the past fifteen months when she became very ill September 25 , 1995 until her death January 14, 1997. She was extremely proud to be the mother of the United States "Pool Checkers" Championship. Her eldest child, Alfred was Champion two consecutive years, 1995 and 1996.
Ann Lois, you will be missed by everyone, relatives and friends. Surely and painfully missed by all her children, grandchildren, greatgrandchildren; brothers, McKinley Weems and Charles R. Adams; sister, Christine Parsons; and a host of nephews, nieces, cousins, uncles, aunts, and friends. Ann Lois, may your spirit and soul rest in peace.
