Katheryn (Kathy) Brown Banks was born November 13, 1959 in Newton County, Georgia. She was the baby child of the late RobertS. and Mollie B. Brown. Kathy was preceded in death by a sister, Geraldine Hull, and a brother, Arthur " Boobie" Brown.
Kathy was a member of Livingston Chapel CME Church. She graduated from Newton County High School and then went on to pursue her dreams, earning a degree from the University of Tennessee. Kathy taught school for a number of years before becoming the Nutrition Director for the Social Circle Board of Education. She was employed by the Social Circle City Schools for 25-plus years. She also became the Walton County Nutrition Director before she retired. She was working towards her Master's Degree at the time of her death. Kathy was married to Willie Marvin Banks. Kathy loved to cook. She was always lending a helping hand to others. If there was a program at Livingston Chapel CME, Kathy had a "hand in it", especially when food was being served. You could always find Kathy somewhere with a camera taking pictures, always creating memories. Kathy leaves to mourn, a loving husband: Willie Marvin Banks; her three children: Mr. Brent Reed, Ms. Marci Reed and Mr. Ashton Banks; her step-children: Mr. Morris (Kisha-Reed) Thrasher, Mr. Mark and Kris Banks, Mr. Derrick Banks and Ms. Kimberly Banks; one brother: Mr. Willard Brown; three sisters: Mr. & Mrs. Willie (Barbara) Wise, Mrs. Hortense C. Ransom and Mr. & Mrs. James (Valeria) Adams. Kathy also had 12 grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins other relatives and numerous friends who she was close to, and loved them all.
