Mrs. Bessie Banks was born August 15, 1906 in Jasper County, Shadydale, Georgia to the late Mr. and Mrs. John Lane. She affilliated herself with the Eastern Stars of Mansfield Lodge No. 130, O.E.S. She was the wife of the late Mr. Sammie Banks. She joined Turner Monumental A.M.E. Church and served her church until her death. She was a member of Stewardness Board No. One.
She departed this life on Sunday morning, February 23, 1986 at Crawford W. Long Hospital. She leaves to cherish her loving memory five daughters, Mrs. Noraphine Rackley, Mrs. Mamie Battle, Mrs. Magaline Stewart, Mrs. Lue Jean Lattimore and Miss Christine Banks; four sons, Mr. Virgil Demons, Mr. Willie Jr. Smith, Mr. Leon Banks and Mr. Ulyssis Banks; two sons,in,law, Mr. Curtis Battle and Mr. Willie Rackley; one brother,in,law, Mr. Willie Jean Banks; twenty,three grandchildren, eleven great grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and
friends.
