Shanita L. Baker (Nita) was born on May 6, 1989 in Douglasville, Georgia to the proud parents of Harold and Mary Baker. She grew up in Atlanta, Georgia. Shanita graduated May 2008 from Heritage High School. She attended G.C.I. College to become a Massage Therapist. She also received her certification in Culinary Arts at RCA. She took Child Development Courses at RCA. Shanita had love and compassion for the children. Shanita was certified in Health and Environmental Science at Harvard University.
Shanita was a men1ber of High Praise Christian Center where she was baptized. She sang in the choir and was on the dance ministry. She later joined Springfield Baptist Church and was a faithful member until her health declined.
On Shanita's journey she taught everyone to be strong and not to give up, to stay encouraged and know that God is always by your side. No matter how ill Shanita was, she cherished family and was a dedicated friend.
Shanita was outgoing, funny and loved by all. She loved to eat and Shanita loved her cat (Rocky) and her dog (Roscoe). No matter what she was going through Shanita always stayed strong. She was a fighter.
She leaves behind her parents Harold and Mary Baker; sisters, Shayla Maddox Lassiter and Shantrena Baker; nephew, Tredarius Lassiter; two grandmothers, Mary Ann Tucker and Roecillie Baker; godmother, Mrs. Evelyn Bostock and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
She is preceded in death by her beloved grandfather, Willie (Tommie) Lee Tucker; cousin, Tyeshay (Tara) Tucker; aunt, Dorothy Davis (Dot) and uncle Thomas Scott Baker (Boo Boo).
