Dad,
You were more than a dad; you were a friend. You were there no matter what. You were involved in every milestone throughout our lives: graduations, births, weddings, and birthdays. One thing you always reminded us is,
"If the family is not together, then nothing is together. "
We'll always remember you and have love for you in our hearts.

CR.dfection ofLife
Elmer "Almotis" Austin, Jr., was born May 25, 1942, in Atlanta, GA., to the late Mr. and Mrs. Elmer Austin, Sr. He was the youngest of thirteen siblings, of which ten brothers and one sister preceded him in death. Elmer departed this life and transitioned into new life on Friday, October 19, 2012. He was the father of nine children, including two foster children. One son, Darren Avery, preceded him in death.
In his young life, he attended Wesley Avenue Middle School and Booker T. Washington High School. At an early age, he attended St. John Apostolic Church. Later, he joined Westhills Presbyterian Church.
Elmer worked for Edwards Pie Company and Clark Atlanta University for a number of years. Known for his flamboyant personality and style, his friends affectionately called him "The Mayor of Fair Street Bottom." He loved to socialize and meet new people. He was a great storyteller, who intrigued all that came in contact with him. He never met a stranger.
He had an entrepreneurial spirit and could always fmd creative ways to make money. A favorite quote of his was, "What's understood does not need to be explained." He was an original.
He leaves to cherish his memories: devoted mother of his children, Lillie R. Austin; eight children: Evangelist Debra Kemp-Williams (Fayetteville, NC), Stevie D. Austin (Stone Mountain, GA), Pastor and Mrs. Almotis (Angela) Austin (Jacksonville, NC), Djuana Austin-Frank (Hoover, AL), Lenard Austin (Dallas, TX), Donte' Austin (Decatur, GA) Khreem Baker (Augusta, GA), and Mario Winston (Atlanta, GA); 13 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; one sister: Evangelist Annie Grace Pye; two sisters-in-law; two brothers-in-law; and a host of family and friends .
