Hortence Marie Strong who was born
December 15,1939 in StLouis Missouri, as the sixth
of eight children of Otis Strong and Edna Cook

Strong.
Hortence or ~~Tencil" or even more specifically ~~Mimi" as she was called, was educated in the St Louis Public School system and completed her high school education at Vashon high School in 1957. ~~Mimi" went on to continue her educational endeavors at Lincoln University from 1958 through 1961.
In 1962, Mimi's spirit moved her to San Francisco where she remained for three years and married Arthur Lee Anderson in January 1964. This union begets one son, Samuel Christopher Anderson.
In 1968, Mimi began her private ~~war" on Poverty. Her professional accomplishments included: Assisting All Americans with Career Training; Soft skills development; Housing Assistance; and Voting Rights. In 2004 Mimi retired as a career Social service administrator from the 22 nd Judicial Circuit of Missouri.
She was baptized into the Holy Catholic faith in the spring of 1974.
On December 24, 2018 Mimi succumbed to the illness related to a stroke in 2009. Up until that time, Mimi enjoyed many days of lucidity; she could always smile.
Mimi has been a fighter all of her life. She fought for the equality of people that she knew and those she'd never meet. Her fondness for people, music, entertaining, laughing, and playing bid wiz are only eclipsed by her love fo r her twin (Chris), her son (Sam), grandchildren and shrimp.
Hortence leaves to mourn her passing, a loving son; Samuel C. Anderson, one sister, Chris Casey, 3 grandchildren; Justin C. M. Anderson, Sean C. Anderson and Arnica E. Mcintee, 3 great grandchildren; Janiya Anderson, Jeanne' Anderson, Joshua Mcintee and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends who loved her dearly.
